Las Vegas Police Officers Ambushed At Traffic Light, Did Not Return Gunfire
Police have released a report detailing the incident saying two officers were leaving the scene of a disturbance call at a .99 Cents Only store when a person approached their patrol car while it was stopped at a traffic light and fired three shots, striking one of the officers in the hand.
What’s interesting is police did not return gunfire during the encounter, which occurred shortly after noon on Sunday.
“These officers are going out there and being attacked while they are sitting in a police car, and we didn’t fire a single shot back at him,” an officer at the Las Vegas police department stated.
Undersheriff Kevin McMahill praised the officers, saying they showed “remarkable restraint” when they took the suspect into custody.
This is the second shooting of a police officer in three days in Las Vegas.
