Riverhead Town Police Sgt. Stephen Palmer says Kevin Arcamona’s knee hit Patricia Baronowski in the head during freefall in a jump at Skydive Long Island in Calverton.
Police are reporting Baronowski’s reserve parachute activated and she landed in a tree about 15 to 20 feet from the ground. She was expeditiously taken to a near-by hospital by helicopter.
Arcamona was also rushed to the hospital but at a different location.
Both are expected to recover.
