That awkward moment when you are watching the news with your mother and a segment comes on about a crime you committed. Yeah, thats what happened with 19 year old Harlem man, Anthony Ramon, and his mother while they were watching the nightly news.
It is no secret that we are living in a sick world with even sicker people. It must have been hard for Anthony’s mother to watch his story unfold in a news clip on the nightly news. The NYPD has been on the hunt for a man that attempted to throw himself onto a 33 year old woman in Washington Heights.
According to reports, the man spotted the woman while riding the subway and he ended up following her once she got off. After exiting, he allegedly trailed the woman to her apartment building and entered the elevator with her. At this point, it is said that the man flashed himself to her and began masturbating on the elevator. When the elevator stopped, the man grabbed the woman who eventually got away and ran into her apartment.
This same news story was airing on the nightly news when Anthony and his mother–Brenda–were watching. How weird was that for the both of them? Anthony’s mother says she recognized the attempted rapist as her son when an image was shown of him in the woman’s elevator. Ironically, it does not seem that Brenda confronted Anthony directly because according to reports, she went and woke up her husband, told him about the story and then they took Anthony over to the police precinct.
It is unfortunate that you never really know someone and this is obvious from Franklin’s–Anthony’s father–statement about him being a good college kid and working the night shift.
