According to the lottery authorities, Hubert Tang had not bought a lottery ticket in 10 years, but he found a $20 bill outside San Francisco airport and tapped into his nostalgia on Wednesday. The man purchased two “$1 Million Jackpot! Scratchers” tickets and began scratching outside of a market in Millbrae, California.
“I scratched the ticket outside of the store. I told my friend whom I was with that I didn’t know if it was real, but ‘I think I just won a million dollars,'” Tang said in a statement.
The man, who worked as a bartender, was in shock when he analyzed what just transpired.
The enthusiastic winner said he might start leaving random $20 bills to inspire others to start playing.
Tang said, “Maybe I’ll start leaving $20 bills on the street in random places.”
