Washington head coach Chris Petersen is buzzing with excitement for a brand new year, his seconds in the Pac-12 since leaving Boise State, but today he had some unfortunate news to report regarding his roster entering fall camp. The Washington Huskies announced the program has dismissed cornerback Naijiel Hale from the program. Hale, the son of Nate Dogg, took to his Instagram account to announce he is taking his football career elsewhere.

@IamJoeSports

I would like to announce that I will be taking my football career elsewhere and thank the [U]niversity of Washington for everything they’ve taught me,” Hale said in his Instagram statement. “I [t]hank you [defensive back coach Jimmy Lake] and Coach Peterson (sic) for being there for me and understanding everything that I go through. Nobody in this world will understand my life yet I’m still moving forward. I’m so thankful to play and start many games as a True Freshmen in the PAC-12 and those memories will stick with me forever.”

Hale has deleted the post as well as tweet that basically said the same thing. So far the school hasn’t explained why he was dismissed other than to say it was for disciplinary reasons.

Hale will look to continue playing at another school next season.
