IFWT_TMZ_Exposé

Doom Doom Doom … TMZ is now on the other side of the reporting table. The New Yorker is reportedly in the final stages of creating a TMZ exposé. Apparently, the gossip website that hunts down celebrities to find out the truth, has got under the skin of the writers at the New Yorker.

Word is, TMZ’s creator; Harvey Levin as well as Warner Brothers – owners – is somewhat nervous of what may be EXPOSED.

The TMZ exposé that has been a year in the making, and will consist of the show’s “unorthodox reporting tactics.” Levin, 64 [totally didn’t know that one], is demanding that employees – whether old or new – not speak with the magazine’s writer, Nicholas Schmidle.

Schmidle is behind some mastermind subjects such as the hunt for Osama bin Laden, which resulted in the written piece, “Getting bin Laden” and a Russian arms trafficker, for which he was named a 2013 Livingston Award finalist. Hmm, this guy has camped out in Pakistan, so there is no wonder Levin is nervous. They are just as gritty in making sure that the news is heard.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, TMZ is one of Warner Bros. biggest cash cows:

Levin and TMZ are not often discussed on Time Warner earnings calls, but by most accounts the outlet is said to make tens of millions of dollars for Warner Bros. each year, mostly from the syndicated TMZ newsmagazine television show, which Levin hosts. The former lawyer’s ability to procure court documents, celebrity death and divorce news, sex videos and other unflattering tidbits have led to speculation — especially in L.A.’s legal community, which often grapples with TMZ — that the outlet is paying sources handsomely.

Of course, TMZ is not answering any questions as far as what’s going on. This play-out will be interesting.
