The name, Sandra Bland is still looming in the air as an investigation in her mysterious ‘suicide’ continues. Her death has been labeled as an act of racism, and one of many cases where police asset their authority too much. One active participant in the investigation is Texas’ Waller County district attorney Elton Mathis, a man who is also being accused of having a history of ‘racial bias’.
Reverend Walter Pendleton, a local Black pastor, reveals a confrontation he had with Mathis via a series of threatening text messages.

According to Rev. Pendleton, he reached out to Mathis to inquire his lack of prosecution for White individuals. Mathis full of rage, replied that the reverend would be “too stupid” to understand the term “selective prosecution.” He continued, “My hounds ain’t even started yet dumb ass. Keep talking. When I talk people will listen. Keep talking and I will sue your ass for slander. It works both ways. ‘Dr.’ Take your fake Dr. ass and jump off a high cliff.”
When confronted with the accusation, Mathis explained that he was angry at the time. “I’m entitled to be human and to have emotion and defend myself,” he says. The DA also says that he sticks by his response.

I mean this is Texas, making racism not too far-fetched. At this point even individuals such as Mathis understand the history of racism in the state. So, what say you; racial bias or not?
