Earlier this week, rapper Chief Keef announced that he would hold a benefit concert in honor of the toddler that was killed during the shooting of his friend Capo. Chief Keef planned on projecting a hologram of himself on a stage built into a parked semitrailer in Chicago as the rapper sang on a soundstage in Beverly Hills, California. Those plans however, were put to a stop after the event planned Alki David made claims that Father Michael Pfleger interfered by bullying the owner of the concert venue.

1-year old Dillon Cooper was ran over killed at the same time Chicago rapper Capo was shot. Capo’s friend and fellow rapper decided to host a benefit concert in the toddler’s honor. The show was planned to be free and to encourage attendees to make donations to the family.

According to the event planner Alki David, the show was cancelled due to intimidation by priest Michael Pfleger. Pfleger is a priest at St. Sabina Catholic Church on Chicago’s South Side. The event planner released a statement saying, “The meddling, attention seeking Father Pfleger, who bullied the owner of the downtown theater to back out of his contract, will not succeed. He is exploiting this tragedy and taking money away from the victims and solid charities who are doing good work in Chicago.”

The Father fighting back saying he had nothing to do with the venue’s cancellation of the event. He said, “It’s ridiculous,I had no contact with the venue.” Despite his most recent statement the priest had a lot to say about the concert when it was first announced, making it clear he did not want it to be held.

In a Facebook post he wrote, “Instead of having a concert … why doesn’t he man up and acknowledge it’s time to stop this violence and apologize for his part in it!!!! We don’t need a concert … we need PEACE.”

Hopefully, the concert will be back on again soon. We’ll keep you updated.
