Although TIDAL is claiming that Lil Wayne gave them the rights to stream his music in return for part ownership of the company, Birdman begs to differ. In a recent lawsuit obtained my TMZ, Ca$h Money has filed a lawsuit against the new music streaming service for the release of singles from Lil Wayne’s Free Weezy Album.

This here music belongs to me boss. Birdman is doing no playing. After allegedly throwing a drink on Lil Wayne and aiding in the shooting of his tour bus did not work, so the Ca$h Money leader is going to stop him where it hurts; in his pockets.

In the lawsuit, Birdman (or Ca$h Money) is saying that Jay Z (or Tidal) is illegally using Lil Wayne to keep the failing business afloat. For streaming songs from Wayne’s Free Weezy Album, the company is requesting $50 million. Cash Money claims it has the exclusive rights to Wayne’s music, not Tidal.

Cash Money begs to differ, and the company quotes portions of its contract with Lil Wayne in the lawsuit. The contract specifically says Wayne does not have the power to license his music to anyone else.

Whoa! Birdman is clearly living by the quote, ‘By Any Means Neccessay’ While Tyga is on the Ca$h Money roster and releasing things through other services hurts, Lil Wayne is their biggest cash cow, so he can’t let that go lying down. This is getting hectic.
