Similar to the Rich Kids of Beverly Hills, only a little less snobby, a lot more urban and music-related, comes the new WE TV reality docu-series, ‘Growing Up Hip Hop’.
The six-episode docu-series from Entertainment One is scheduled for a late 2015 premiere, and will follow the offspring from hip-hop icons Damon Dash, Rev. Run, Russell Simmons, Master P, El DeBarge and Pepa from Salt-N-Pepa.

According to Variety, ‘Growing Up Hip Hop will star Romeo Miller, Angela Simmons, Damon “Boogie” Dash (Jr., obviously), Kristinia DeBarge, Egypt Criss, and TJ Mizell.
“Hip hop is a hugely popular music genre, but beyond the songs it has become a lifestyle and has influenced a generation of young people. ‘Growing Up Hip Hop’ profiles what it’s like to be raised by hip hop legends, living in their shadow while trying to balance success and independence,” said Marc Juris, WE TV’s president. “This series will be right at home in our growing line-up focused on the authenticity and the challenges of real people and real relationships, and we can’t wait to share these distinctive original stories with WE tv viewers.”
This should be dope. While we’ve got some insight into Romeo and Angela Simmons’ life in hip hop a long time ago, we can dig deeper into the NEXT generation. Viewers can see how things are going with the children in the realms of music, fashion and more.
