DeAndre Jordan already said he fully plans to explore free agency and of course that means he wants to be courted; who doesn’t want to feel wanted? There are several teams interested in the big man and he is expected to meet with the Lakers, Mavericks, and Knicks in addition to considering a max offer to remain with the Clippers. There’s reportedly a rift between Jordan and Clippers superstar guard Chris Paul. Well another superstar guard in LA has no such issues with Jordan and reportedly reached out to him in full recruit mode.
Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times:
Jordan’s first meeting will be on Wednesday with the Dallas Mavericks at the Beverly Hills offices of his representative, Relativity Sports, said NBA officials who were not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.
Jordan will meet with the Lakers and then the New York Knicks later in the day, the official said.
The Clippers, who will have Coach Doc Rivers, owner Steve Ballmer and a video presentation, will be the last team to meet with Jordan on Thursday, the officials said.
Jordan has gotten a call from Lakers guard Kobe Bryant, the officials said. Bryant wanted Jordan to know the Lakers are interested.
This might be Kobe’s final year in the league and he’s not holding back on trying to make one last run with the Lakers.
