Drake has been teasing the whole world with his annual OVO Fest. While he was on his recent Jungle Tour with Future, Drake made a promise to bring OVO Fest to the loudest city and encouraged each crowd to turn up to the max. Now it seems like another major location may be added to the list. Find out why Drake may bring OVO Fest overseas to the UK after the jump!
Over the weekend (June 28), Drake headlined the New Look Wireless Festival in Finsbury Park in northern London. According to sources in the UK, the Young Money rapper felt the need to inform his audience about his thoughts about the future location of the OVO Festival.
“I have this feeling. I have this urge that I need to bring this thing I’ve got called OVO fest to London. If this is the loudest crowd, I promise you.. we’ve got an OVO fest London on the way.”
During his Jungle Tour with Future, Drake made similar promises to his audiences in Houston, New York, Detroit, and Chicago. Drake acknowledged that other fans had the opportunity to bring his annual music festival to their city. He wanted to give the UK the same chance, especially since he had to cancel his previous appearance at Wireless Fest.
“Last year, I had some complications – you know, I couldn’t make it over here,” Drake told his fans in London. “That s*** broke my heart. So that’s why I want to do this year.”
It looks like Drake owes London one. He’s set to headline the Wireless Festival once again this Friday. If the fans are loud enough, Drake could bring his coveted music festival overseas in the future. For now, this year’s OVO Fest will stay in Toronto, Canada from August 1-3 and will feature Kevin Hart and J. Cole. Would you fly out to the UK for Drake’s OVO Fest? Sound off in the comments.
