Iggy Azalea and Britney Spears released their craptasically bad collab “Pretty Girls” last month, and it since has failed to live up to the hype that surrounded it before its release.
Now that Iggy is more active on Twitter once again, a fan reached out to send her some words of encouragement surrounding the flop.
“even if PG flopped a little bit still getting a lot of views on YT and it’s the summer anthem of 2015, so whatever we love you”

Iggy then responded with some insight on the song:
“its difficult to send a song up the charts without additional promo and tv performances etc. unfortunately im just featured…i would have enjoyed performing it alot, i think it got off to a powerful start. but you need content to compete in 2015.”
Though the girls did perform it at the Billboard Music Awards, they offered little else in the way of publicity. As for numbers, the video has surpassed more than 78 million views on YouTube, but it peaked at number 29 on the Billboard Hot 100, and was at number 81 this past week after a steady decline.
Not exactly the numbers you’d expect from two superstars like Britney and Iggy, but Iggy’s explanation makes a lot of sense! (Plus, the song really was trash…)
