No. The answer is no.

Despite what you may have seen on social media from the likes of producer Mike WiLL Made It, Atlanta DJ DJ Bankhead and more, Gucci Mane will not be released from his longtime prison bid on July 11.

MTV spoke with Gucci‘s lawyer, Drew Findling, and he revealed the following:

“We do not know where that rumor came from, so that’s just Internet and social media fabrication. We have no idea where that release date came from because we’re still in the midst of resolving things with the Bureau of Prisons. There was some confusion on their part, about his release date.”

Mr. Findling did add that they’re in the process of working out a date now, but there is not even a potential one as of yet.

Gucci has been behind bars since September of 2013, and as of the last known update on the case, he was scheduled to be released in December 2016. The sentence was originally for 39 months, but the judge shaved 11 months off back in September for time served. We’ll keep you updated.
