For a while now, Karrueche Tran has been known to the world as “Chris Brown’s girlfriend.” Yes, we’ve heard of her dabbling in the styling and fashion realm of entertainment, however, her career was never pin-pointed. These days, dropping the “Chris Brown’s girlfriend” and adding the Karrueche stands along motto, the 26-year-old has dived head first into acting; making this her own.
With Single Ladies notched off on her belt, Karruche is taking her acting skills to the world wide web. In a recent interview with Jet magazine, the socialite talks being brown in Hollywood and her role as Vanessa Ivy in the StyleHaul web-series, Vanity.
“I’m all for diversity and anything multicultural. People look at me and ask “What are you?” and I tell them Black and Vietnamese and they think that’s really cool,” she says on her mixed nationalities. “I love and am happy that I’m able to bridge these two cultures [in the acting world] and even the Asian culture because it’s not that many out there.”

In an effort to uncover the truth about what happened to famed fashion designer Marion Bellerose, college student Lily MacKenzie interviews Marion’s business partner and prominent style icon, Vanessa Ivy. Vanessa leads Lily through the details of the tragic night that changed everything.
Karrueche mentions her love for the latest role. “It’s [Vanity] on StyleHaul and sponsored by Maybelline,” she begins. “It’s like a take on Devil Wears Prada and my character would be like the Meryl Streep…the B—h…It’s so cool to tap into this character. I have a lot of anger and emotions built up so, again, I’m able to use that as therapy and really get it out with my character. It’s a lot of fun and I love playing her.”
