Meek Mill is becoming the voice of reason not only behind the men in Hip Hop, but young black men in general. We often hear Meek speak up when necessary especially in tragic situations. YG was shot earlier today and Meek Mill offered the rapper some useful advice.
Meek Mill and YG are close friends so its no surprise that Meek addressed the shooting. He took to his Twitter account to tell YG to “smarten up” in reference to the people he keeps around him. Meek then sends a message that loyalty shouldn’t be given to everyone, only to those who give it in return.
We don’t know who was behind the shooting, and so far there are no reported suspects. However, the good news is YG didn’t suffer any life threatening injuries and is expected to be okay.
