From 2006 to current, Daft Punk Unchained will tell the story of the artists using rare documents and exclusive interviews with their friends and closest collaborators, according to a press release from BBC Worldwide France, the production company behind the film.
From their home studio in Paris in the mid ‘90s to the triumph of The Robots at the 2014 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, the documentary explores the 20-year career of Daft Punk.
The Hervé Martin Delpierre-directed documentary will star Pharrell Williams, Kanye West, Nile Rodgers, Giorgio Moroder, Michel Gondry, Paul Williams, Peter Lindbergh, Todd Edwards, Leiji Matsumoto, Tony Gardner, Pedro Winter and Pete Tong.
Daft Punk Unchained will be premiered on June 24 at 8:50 p.m. on Canal+ in France – U.S. most likely will not be that far behind.
It will be interesting to find out more on the Robots. Just showing already released interviews are not going to work.
