The Cleveland Cavaliers just made the gut wrenching announcement that Kyrie Irving will need surgery on his kneecap and will miss the remainder of the NBA Finals. Obviously this dampens the series as a whole and throws the odds much more heavily on the side of the Warriors.

Irving will miss 3-4 months after surgery is completed. This is a huge blow to him, the Cavs and even fans just watching because it changes things so much after all the hard work they have put in.

Irving went down early in overtime and immediately grabbed his left knee.

The Warriors were already the favorites to win and without Irving it certainly looks bleak for Cleveland. It is going to take a legendary effort from Lebron to finally bring a title to the city.

Our thoughts are with Kyrie and hopes for a speedy recovery.
