Kelly Mayhew, 34, a Maryland woman who traveled to Queens, NY to receive illegal butt injections; injections that took the young woman’s life.

Like many others, Mayhew had a goal of a voluptuous backside. The BET Freelancer had previously received the silicon injections, but this time when she made that trip to NY with her mother, she did not know it was going to be her last.
After showing up to the basement apartment of a two-family home with her mother Latrice, the young woman was injected, and then began “gurgling and struggling to breathe,” says the NY Daily News. While Latrice performed CPR on her daughter, another attendee dialed 911 and the fake doctor; well … fled the scene.
“I thought she was a doctor, and certified,” said Latrice. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The owner of the home informed police that she was in fact a nurse’s assistant, not the real deal.
A spokesperson for BET Networks issued the following statement:
“We are saddened by the death of our colleague and friend, Kelly Mayhew. Our hearts go out to her family, and we extend our deepest sympathies for their loss.”
