J.R. Smith is a gunner and he’s not shy about it at all. In fact Smith recently said, “I’d rather take a contested shot than an open shot any day … It’s kind of boring when you take open shots”. Well for the upcoming NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors, Smith is hoping to have more open shots and here’s how he’ll get them.
LeBron James recently said he’s unstoppable and his teammate J.R. Smith believes they’ll have to double James in order to be effective. That however means…

J.R. Smith on Warriors guarding LeBron James: “Best of luck to ’em. I hope he do double, so I get open shots.”
Smith is definitely deadly when he’s on; his great shooting nights have been a vital part of the Cavaliers success since he was traded to the team but… Smith can be either really hot or really cold. He’s also had bad shooting nights and can shoot his team right out of the game if he isn’t controlled.
We’ll just have to wait and see which J.R. Smith we get. This is definitely going to be an interesting NBA Finals.
