According to the Washington Post, there have been up to almost 400 deaths this year so far in relations to police brutality.
Reports from the Washington Post details a total of 385 people within a 5 month period have been fatally shot by police, with that calculated its said that over 2 people per day were being killed by law enforcement. What sends more chills is the fact that this amount exceeds the federal government’s findings for more then 10 years.
That is more than twice the rate of fatal police shooting tallied by the federal government over the past decade, a count that officials concede is incomplete
The Post also revealed that the victims ages range from 16-83 and about 25 percent of these victims were classified as mentally ill by authorities and family. Also 80 percent were armed with a weapon and 16 percent had either a toy or just not armed at all. Half the victims were Caucasian and the other half were minorities. Two thirds of the unarmed that were fatally shot were of Hispanic And African American background. There is also speculation that there are still more shootings that have not yet been reported.
