Police are investigating a double stabbing that took place in the early morning hours near a fraternity house on the Tufts University Campus. The campus is located close to Boston and both victims were sent to a nearby hospital. Read more after the jump.
Early this morning a stabbing took place at the Delta Tau Delta fraternity house on Tufts University campus.The incident took place around 4:50AM Sunday, the school immediately followed up by issuing a shelter-in place order. They advised the students via social media to ‘stay in their rooms, lock their doors and stay away from windows.’
Police searched the campus for a suspect until about 8AM but turned up no leads. Somerville Police spokesman Lt. Joseph McCain says there are no suspects apprehended yet and that investigators are interviewing witnesses.
University spokeswoman Kim Thurler said she did not have details regarding the nature or severity of the assault but did know that the two victims were not affiliated with the University. The incident is being treated as “non-random.” Thurler also wanted to stress that there will be an “enhanced police presence during the initial investigation,” around campus.
This incident takes place just two weeks after the University held their commencement ceremony.
