Could Suge Knight, the notorious Death Row Records co-founder possibly get a dismal from his murder charges?
In January Suge Knight, the head of Death Row Records also known as Tupac’s side kick or bodyguard however you want to put it was charged with murder, attempted murder and hit-and-run. This incident took place at a hamburger stand in Compton between Suge, a man named Terry Carter who died from his injuries and Cle “Bones” Sloan who survived.
It seems that today May 29th Knight’s lawyers have requested to have his charges dismissed on the basis that Sloan has refused to identify Knight as the driver of the truck that ran down himself and Carter. Matt Fletcher, Knight’s lawyer writes:
”There is nowhere in this transcript that Mr. Sloan ever identifies Marion Knight, the defendant, as a murderer,” writes Matt Fletcher, an attorney for Knight. ”There is nowhere in the entire transcript that Mr. Sloan even identifies Marion Knight as a driver of the red truck in question; the red truck that hit the victims.”
The judge has delayed this request until July 17th because Knight has hired changed attorney’s. Knight has now hired Thomas Meserau, the attorney who defended Michael Jackson on his molestation charges to also represent him now. The Judge is letting Meserau have time to get familiar with the case and add and additional information that is needed. Maybe with the extended time given Knight can get over whatever cold he has. Earlier this week Knight missed a court date claiming he was too sick. There is not a permeant order allowing deputies to physically bring Knight to court if Knight can not walk himself! Wow, but as of now Knight has not pleaded guilty yet.
