Jonny Quest is making a comeback.
Jonny Quest will be hitting the big screen thanks to Roberto Rodriguez, the action packed cartoon had kids in the 60’s at the edge of their seats and the reruns did the same to the kids in the 80’s and 90’s.
Quest debuted in 1964 on ABC as a prime-time cartoon. The show chronicles the adventures of Jonny Quest, a boy who accompanies his scientist father on extraordinary adventures and the rest of the team includes Hadji, a Kolkatan orphan and Jonny’s best friend; his pet bulldog, Bandit joins them on globe missions. Jonathan “Jonny” Quest is an 11-year-old boy who lost his mother at an early age. With his mother no longer there for him he comes brave and a very daring young man. He takes on responsibility willing, while continuing his education and treating adults with respect. Jonny Quest only ran for one season due to the high cost of the animation.
According to The Hollywood Report, Rodriguez is set to direct the movie, I’m sure Rodriguez will convert all the action to the big screen with no problem. He’s known for action packed movies such as “Sin City”, “From Dusk till Dawn”, “Machete Kills”and “Spy Kids”. There’s no word on the cast just yet, but Zac Efron and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson are rumored to be in the mix for the film.
