Drake’s 6-city “Jungle Tour” with Future has officially begun, and he’s already making some major promises to his fans. Over the holiday weekend, Drake held the first show of the tour in Houston, where he also held his second annual Houston Appreciation Weekend. During his performance, the “Can I” rapper revealed his plans to take his Canada-based OVO Fest to a new city. See if Drake will bring his annual music festival to your city after the jump!
Drake announced his plans to bring OVO Fest to the United States. The Young Money spitter revealed the news in Houston during the first show of his joint “Jungle Tour” with Future. Drake hit the stage at the Toyota Center and told his fans how he will decide on which city to bring his music festival in a couple of years. Just wait on it.
“I was born in Toronto, but I feel like Houston adopted me every time…Listen, aside from my hometown, there’s only four shows on this tour,” Drake told the audience in Houston. “You got tonight in Houston, Texas. You got Detroit. We got Chicago. We got Montreal. That’s all we got. So, this is what I’m gonna do. Whichever crowd is the craziest crowd out of those four crowds, I promise you in the next year or two, I’mma bring OVO Fest to that city.”
Although the “Jungle Tour” will be hitting Governor’s Ball this summer, it doesn’t look like New York City is being considered to hold Drake’s annual music festival. Since its inception in 2010, Drake’s OVO Fest has had several major artists hit the stage in Toronto including Kanye West, J. Cole, Big Sean, and plenty more.
