Last week, after watching the new DOPE movie trailer, starring A$AP Rocky, I hit up his Instagram to see what other things were new – you know, aside from the upcoming release of A.L.L.A. and the release of his ScHoolboy Q-featured track, “Electric Body” release – and I came across something very unique. Colors, collaged images and things of that sort, all rolled into one great mural. So, what’s new? Pretty Flacko decided to turn his photo social media into an art exhibit … but is it working out for his fan base?

Robert Gallardo, who has been collaborating with Rocky on the project, spoke with Complex to deliver the reasoning for the uploaded black, yet colorful images. It is “modern day fine art, just delivered to you differently because of the times we live in,” he says. Cool. I am with it.
However, the art have drove some fans to back away from the Harlem rapper’s IG page because of it; 10,000 fans. Looks like while some enjoy the artistry of hip-hop from Rocky, they are not feeling the black colored images from him. Modern day art gone terribly wrong, or a creative process?
