In a match that was not intended for him initially, Cromier came up big in Saturday night’s UFC match up against Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson. Originally the fight was scheduled to go down between Rumble Johnson and Jon Jones; however, Jones was suspended and stripped of his UFC Light Heavyweight title after being suspected in a hit-and-run accident.
With the newly unclaimed title on the line, the stakes were raised for the match up in octagon on Saturday. Ironically, the fight started out somewhat rocky for Cromier as Johnson came out swinging and almost got a first round knock out; but Cromier was able to refocus and make it to the next round. Ultimately, Cromier was able to win the match in the third round by getting Johnson into the rear-naked chokehold. More surprisingly, though, Cromier had some comments following the match that could be the set up for another big fight in the octagon.

Cromier wasted no time to set potentially set up his next match. He called out Jon Jones to, “get your sh*t together, I’m waiting for you,” and it could very well happen. UFC officials have already said that once Jones gets his legal matters under control, he can definitely re-enter the UFC league. I imagine that he will want to attempt to reclaim his UFC Light Heavyweight title after being stripped by the league; so, Cromier’s wishes to fight Jones again may come true.
