In what the Village Voice calls “A rush of joy and grief,” the documentary AMY depicts the ups and down of the popular English singer, Amy Winehouse.

The Asif Kapadia-directed film is, “A heart-breaking journey. A ground-breaking motion picture.” During the official trail for AMY we see the relationship between Amy and ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil, rare footage of Ms. Winehouse and sit-down interviews. “The more people see of me, the more they’ll realize that all I’m good for is making music,” Amy expressed in one of those interviews.
AMY will only show in New York, Los Angeles and United Kingdom theaters on July 3, 2015 before going nationwide on July 10. You will not want to miss it.

I can’t front, I’m looking forward to watching this film. Amy was great at what she did, but sadly, she fell into a life that many have done, is doing and will do; alcoholism. It’s real.
