Knicks fans everywhere are in disarray after missing out on the top pick; another disappointment after a horrendous season that saw the Knicks finish with only 17 wins. Well, it looks like Phil Jackson isn’t ready to just take the cards that were dealt to him, as it is being reported that Jackson is looking to move the 4th overall pick in a trade for a veteran player.
Yahoo Sports, Adrian Wojnarowski, is reporting that Jackson is looking to move the pick:
At No. 4, expect that the Knicks draft pick will be very available in trade talks.

This comes as no surprise, since earlier in the ear Jackson held a press conference and said his preference would be to move the pick for a veteran player, using some of the 25-million the Knicks have in cap space coming this year. Jackson has a reputation of wanting to trade his young players for veteran talent, trying to trade Andrew Bynum in multiple deals and trading Marc Gasol for his brother Pau when he was with the lakers.
The draft is viewed as very top heavy, and after the two big men, the rest of the draft class has a lot of questions on how effective the incoming players will fare in the league. If the Knicks do keep the 4th overall pick, look for the Knicks to go after players like Deangelo Russell, Emmanuel Mudiay, or Dukes, Justice Winslow.
