The WNBA just announced that both Brittney Griner and Glory Johnson were going to be suspended for the first seven games of the season. The couple just got married last week and appear to have moved on from the domestic incident that got both of them arrested last month. The WNBA still was yet to have it’s say and today they give their ruling.

The WNBA President Laurel Richie says she consulted with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver — as well as several abuse counselors and domestic violence groups — before reaching her decision.

In addition to the suspensions, Britney and Glory will have to attend individual counseling sessions. The suspensions will begin in June when the league starts it’s season. Griner’s loss to her Phoenix Mercury team is much bigger than Johnson’s to her Tulsa Shock, but the punishment had to be fair.
