What happens when you put on for you city …
K. Dot was the 35th recipient to receive the honor as a ‘Generational Icon’. State Senator Isadore Hall, III, announced the artist, and recognized his participation and contribution to the Compton school district, as well as other charities. “In less than ten years as a professional artist, Mr. Lamar has gone from a local Compton [mess up, lol] young boy, to becoming a multi-platinum, Billboard chart-topping two time Grammy award-winning musician.” WELL! Say that three times fast.
“Being from the city of Compton and knowing the parks that I played at and neighborhoods, I always thought how great the opportunity would be to give back to my community all for what I do in music,” Kendrick said. “I thank you from the bottom of my heart.” [Hand Clap]. But who else is more deserving? Congratulations to a man that has thought outside of the box, and still is recognized for it.
