Blake Griifin has had a dominant postseason run, averaging 31 points, 16.7 rebounds, and 9 assist a game, as the Los Angeles Clippers took a 2-1 lead over the Houston Rockets last night. But even with Griffin playing so well, theres talk of the Clippers possibly trading Griffin to the Portland Trail Blazers because of the likelhood that they might lose Lamarcus Aldridge
Blake Griffin has been a cornerstone of the Los Angeles Clippers since he was drafted by the team 1st overall in 2009, he’s also shown different facets of his expanding game since Chris Paul has gone down with a hamstring injury during the 2nd round of the playoffs.
But with the Clippers old GM in Portland theres rumor that he might be looking to acquire his former star poet-foward.
According to Yahoo! Sports Marc J.Spears, who spoke on John Canzano’s Bald-Faced Truth radio show:
“This is a rumor. Let me say that three times. This is a rumor. This a rumor. This is a rumor.
Blake Griffin.
Obviously, there’s a connection there with the GM. And you wonder, if LaMarcus is interested in the Clippers, playing with Chris Paul. Could Neil Olshey get his old superstar with the Clippers in Portland?
I think you get to a point where – Neil is smart. You’ve got to have a come-to-Jesus meeting with LaMarcus and say, “Hey, do you really want to be here or do you think you want to go. Because if you really want to go, help us – the same way Steve Nash helped the Suns. Don’t just walk away. Try to help out Portland in the process.”
It would be tough to see the Clippers trading Griffin, especially with how well he’s played in Paul’s absence, but you never know what might happen in the NBA.
