Rock plans to direct a comedy special filmed at the famous Apollo Theater in Harlem with Amy Schumer being the main attraction. Schumer is in the middle of her third season on the hit Comedy Central show Inside Amy Schumer and has just been picked up for a fourth season. Schumer has kept her name in the media with publicity stunts as well as actual hilarious comedy. The special will be directed by Chris Rock which will make for interesting partnership for a new fresh bold comedic view on the world and our everyday life. Despite critics Schumer has proven that she has more than what it takes to succeed in entertainment and comedy and this huge endorsement by Rock proves that. Schumer also has a feature film being released this summer which she wrote and stars in directed by the well known Judd Apatow. It seems like Amy Schumer knows what she’s doing and is copyrighting her own brand of self deprecating humor blended with a cynical take on the misogynistic culture that is present in the entertainment industry. The special will taped at the Apollo Theatre on May 29. According to HBO the special is set to air later this year.
