Bank robber post video of robbery on Instagram and tells police he felt like he got robbed.
Dominyk Alfonseca, resident of Virginia Beach is currently being accused of robbing Townebank in Virginia Beach Towne Center. On Monday Alfonseca went to Townebank and slipped the teller a note stating:
“I need 150,000 bands right now!! Please police take 3 to 4 minutes to get here, I would appreciate if you ring the alarm a minute after I am gone … Make sure the money doesn’t blow up on my way out”.
The fearful teller did exactly what the note said. Bank tellers are trained in situations similar to this to do exactly what the robber says or writes. This type of robbery is classified as a “note passing” robbery. Alfonseca, was not armed and contends that he never actually demanded money. That the teller simply gave it to him. So he took it and left the bank.
Within an half-hour Alfonseca was arrested. Alfonseca says,
“For real, I felt like I got robbed, ‘cause they gave me the money. Then the police robbed my brain.”
Alfonseca also stated that he did not do it for the money. That he knew his picture would get exposed, so he posted a video to Instagram because he would get caught. Alfoseca kept drifting off topic during this interview in jail from talking about his brain. Where he told WVEC-TV,
“I don’t know what it is, if there’s chips or whatever that they’re putting in people’s brains or I have one — if I have one — I don’t know how they have it, how I have it, but people know, like, before I do something what I’m thinking, or they would post it on Instagram.”
Alfonseca is currently being charged, the charges have not yet been posted. But he stated,
“Everything is relative, you know what I mean? It’s however you want to take it. I’m telling you why I did what I did, you know what I mean? But if justice is served in that thing, then I think justice shall be served all around.”
Hopefully justice will be served in the case of Alfonseca and he gets the help he needs.
