The first annual Steez Festival will be held in New York City!
Joey Bada$$ and Pro Era announced today that they will be having an first annual Steez Fest in New York City. The show will take place on July 7th at Central Park Summerstage in NY. Tickets will be available for purchase Friday, May 8th on Ticketfly. Joining Joey Bada$$ will be the rest of Pro Era and New York underground rappers “The Underachievers and Flatbush Zombies”.
From the festival name you can guess why the festival was started. In honor of the late Capital Steez. Who was one of the founding members of Pro Era. On Christmas eve of 2012 Steez unfortunately took his life. Leaving his close friends with a text and tweet that read, “The End”.
You may remember Steez from Joey Bada$$’s 2012 mixtape 1999, which he appeared on the songs “Killuminati” and “Survival Tactics”. That same year, his debut mixtape, AmeriKKKan Korruption, was released to a limited audience but received an significant amount of attention.
This festival will be to honor him the best way Pro Era knows and can with positive vibes. Doing what they all worked hard to do with Capital Steez. So, go get your tickets before they sell out!
