I’m pretty sure it’s common knowledge to never come at Mariah Carey with any sideways remarks, (especially) about her vocals. For some reason an Associated Press reporter decided to step out of a limb and dared to ask “Mimi” about her background vocals. Adding insult to injury, the reporter implied that Miss. Carey would have some “assistance” during her Las Vegas residency. Boys and girls, class is officially in session. Check out her response after the jump.
Mariah Carey was not there for the disrespect, nor is she ever. When an Associated Press reporter dared to ask her about the technicalities of her vocal performances during her Las Vegas residency she turned a not so thought-out question into a teaching moment for all that interview Mariah in the future. “As far as vocals, are there going to be any kind of backup tracks?”, the female reporter asked. The diva quickly put the reporter in their place by inviting all that question her vocal capability to a personal, exclusive concert series, taking place in her shower!
Nothing seems to rile Mariah Carey’s feathers like speculation about her vocals. There’s no doubt that the veteran has still got it and she wants everyone to know it. She clapped back by saying,
“I mean, I have so many over lapping parts and background vocalists and background things. There’s always some confusion and something about it, but I mean like, if there’s any confusion they’re welcome to come to my house and sing in the shower with me. It’s not a problem.”
….Now run and tell that!
