On Monday night shots were fired outside the Emmanuel Church Of God in Flatbush, while the funeral of 38 year old Jose Robles was taken place. According to investigators an argument broke out at around 8:30 p.m where four men and two women were shot.
NYPD’s chief Robert Boyce said that “according to their spot shotter technology (audio gun sensors), 15 rounds of shots were fired at this specific location at 8:30 p.m on Monday night. We don’t know right now how many shooters there were. We’re trying to figure that out but we believe there are multiple”. Shots were fired from outside and inside the church as people were exiting, four men and two woman were shot. The victims were taken to the hospital where two out of the four men were pronounced dead in Kings County Hospital. The two men have been identified as Shareiff Clayton, age 40 from the Bronx and Ronald Murphy, age 44 from Brooklyn.
Robles was released from prison six years ago for attempted murder, but once out his family states he had changed his life around and had recently graduated from Manhattan College. They also believe the shooting that took place during Robles’ funeral was non gang related.
One witness stated that once he heard gunshots he covered his kids and dropped to the floor. Though its still unknown the cause of this shooting police are still investigating. There are no arrests at the time.
