When Sir Michael Rocks and Chuck Inglish first hit the scene, they were known as “The Cool Kids” and actually had a decent following. The indie labels were clawing their way passed the competition to sign them and everything else seemed to be going in the right direction. Once their debut album finally dropped in 2011, things were seemed promising for the rising duo. But now, Sir Michael Rocks has confirmed that the group is officially over. Find out what happened after the jump!
Sir Michael Rocks took to Twitter confirm what some of his fans have feared for awhile. The other half of “The Cool Kids” tweeted that the duo is over and will not be coming back. The group hasn’t released new material since 2012 and had even boasted about a reunion for their upcoming Shark Week album. However, the brief confirmation must have derived from various questions about the group from fans.
“The Cool Kids are never coming back,” Rocks tweeted. “I’m sorry. Shit was tight… but I’m actually way better now if you would stop being a dick and let me live.”
Antoine “Sir Michael Rocks” Reed and Evan “Chuck Inglish” Ingersoll may not be working as a team but they’re solo careers have yet to crumble. Inglish released his debut album Convertibles via Sounds Like Fun Records/Federal Prism Records in April of last year. Meanwhile, Mikey Rocks was signed to Curren$y’s Jet Life Recordings back in 2011 and has a new project coming this year called Populair. Check out his tweets below.
