While Bobbi Kristina is still in the hospital fighting for her life, her family continues to send mixed messages to the public about the state of her condition. Bobby Brown has tried to take control of the situation by filing for control of Bobbi Kristina’s Estate.
Just last week Bobby Brown left his daughter’s side briefly to preform at a concert where he announced to the crowd that Bobbi Kristina is awake. His announcement was met with backlash from The Houstons, who claimed the report was false and Bobbi Kristina’s condition had not changed.
This claim was turned over by a statement by Bobby Brown’s lawyer who said, “Doctors have indicated that she will have a long life. However, Bobbi Kristina is presently embarking on a rehabilitation process and the quality of her life will not be known for years to come.”
This glimmer of hope for Bobbi Kristina and the differences in opinions between the families may be the reason Bobby Brown wants to take control of his daughter’s estate. Brown could be trying to make sure that he has full control over all health and care decisions made for his daughter, as well as her estate which is estimated to be worth 20 million.
Brown’s lawyers have not commented on the reasons for filing. Cissy Houston was not pleased and the family did release a statement about their feelings on Brown’s filing.
The Houston family lawyer said, This is a family matter involving sensitive information. We hope to resolve this in a manner that is respectful of Bobbi Kristina’s sensitive health information. The Houston family has always looked out for the best interest of Bobbi Kristina Brown. The family has done so all of her life and will continue to do so. We trust that others have the same objective.”
