Over 4,000 miles for a better life, with the huge risk of not making it there safe. for many people across the world, this is their only chance to find a better way of living. While hoping to make it to Europe in one piece, people find the courage to put their life in danger.
One Somali woman decided to take this risk and travel for seven months in order to reach Libya. Once she reached there, she hoped to be able to cross the Mediterranean sea in order for her baby to be born in Europe. However, she never made it to her promise land.
She was arrested as she was sailing north into Libya and is now being held with about 350 others in Tripoli. Her baby was born a week after she was held in captivity in Tripoli. Although it’s a bummer that she was no able to make it to the land she hoped would be beneficial for her child, she and others should be glad that she is alive, unlike others who died due to sunken ships.
There is no word if the facility will send the people held back to where they came from, but there can only be hope.
