So there is a new movie on the rise starring Johnny Depp called “Black Mass” which is based on a true story. The movie is about Irish Mob Boss Whitey Bulgar who was dubbed the most violent criminal in south Bostons neighborhood who later becomes an FBI informant for 30 years so that he could take out any rival crime families trying to move in on his turf.
Bulgar developed the bad guy reputation at the age of 14 with his careless actions and constant street brawls in which he was being recognized by a more experienced pack of criminals which led to more opportunities for Bulgar to gain a even bigger rep in south Bostons neighborhood. Arrested at 14 for Larceny and became a member of a local street gang called the “Shamrocks” shortly after he was arrested for assault, battery and armed robbery. In and out of prison he then decided to join the Air Force but was then relieved on dishonorable discharge and back to Boston he went. Which he then continued the life of an Irish Mob figure who never hesitated to spill blood where he felt it was needed. So for Johnny Depp to play the leading role in this movie doesn’t surprise me because he was great in Donnie Brasco and Blow two of my favorite Depp movies that both were based on true stories as well. So this movie should be just as epic as the others and from what the trailer is showing it gives you that ” I cant wait to go see that” feeling. Check it out below
