This Friday morning in New York City there was a construction site accident that has lead to the death of one man.
The construction site is located at E. 44th street and Second Avenue in Manhattan. The crane was attached to a small flatbed truck, yet it is still unclear as to what happened exactly. Fire officials say the man was pronounced dead at the scene. “The crane fell on him,” said construction worker Juan Jose. “We were upstairs working.” Police are at the scene investigating. There is no name for the victim yet. They have not confirmed if the man was a construction worker. The age of the male was not yet released. FDNY officials say the death was caused by “mechanical malfunction, not a construction collapse.”
