‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ broke box office records on Valentine’s Day weekend with 568.8 million dollars. It’s now been announced that the sequels ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ and ‘Fifty Shades Freed’ are set to be released Valentine’s weekend in the upcoming years. Check out the trailer after the jump.
The movie is based on the best selling book trilogy by E.L. James. Universal announced the release dates via Twitter yesterday. They posted, ‘The Fantasy Continues: #FiftyShadesDarker will be released on 2/10/17 and #FiftyShadesFreed on 2/9/18.’
The film will still include stars, Stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, but”Fifty Shades of Grey” director Sam Taylor-Johnson will not return for the sequels. James’s husband Niall Leonard, has been drafted to write the screenplay for the sequel. Producer Michael De Luca said “Niall is an outstanding writer in his own right, with multiple established credits, and we are lucky to have him join Team Fifty.”
