Aaron Hernandez’s legal troubles are far from over. Not only was he found guilty of first degree murder in the death of Odin Lloyd, he also has a double murder trial coming up and now Lloyd’s mother is considering filing a wrongful death lawsuit against him.
With Hernandez having been convicted of murdering the former semi-pro football player, the odds are extremely good that Lloyd’s family would win a civil case against him. The case could potentially be worth millions of dollars since Hernandez made millions during his football career. In fact he had a $40 million contract with the Patriots before he was cut after getting arrested for murder.
TMZ Sports spoke with Ursula Ward – Odin Lloyd’s mother – this week, and she said she had not made up her mind about whether she will go through with the lawsuit.
Ward wouldn’t explain why she’s on the fence, but sometimes, grieving families would rather move on with their lives instead of reliving the nightmare in another high profile case no matter how much money is at stake.
I’m sure Ward’s lawyer is urging her to file the suit. Civil suits are much easier to win than criminal suits and since Hernandez was already convicted, it’s kinda like guaranteed money. But like I said, I’m sure she wants to move on and not relive her son’s death so we’ll see what she decides to do.
