Former NBA superstar, Gary Payton, has been suspended from Fox Sports 1 after Payton has been accused of assaulting a woman who accompanied him to an awards function in Seattle back in January. TMZ is reporting, that after the event things got violent, leading to the assault charges.
Trishtan Williams, the woman who is accusing Payton of assault, claims her and Payton went to a bar after the function where Payton ‘shoved her over and over.’ Williams then claims after they got in the car to leave, Payton assaulted her for a second time. She then claims she was assaulted for a third time after getting to the hotel room.
Payton’s lawyer claims williams has no “physical evidence to substantiate these claims” and that this charge is nothing more then trying to get a “fat check,” from his client. He also claims that Williams has changed her story several times.
“Unfortunately, with the climate of claims against athletes for monetary gains, Mr. Payton is just another victim and will fight this frivolous lawsuit.”
Payton has been on the Fox Sports 1 network since its birth in 2013.
