_ Funeral For 8 Killed By Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

The funeral was held for the family of eight killed by carbon monoxide poisoning in their sleep from a generator after their electricity was cut off. A power company discovered a stolen meter and cut off the electricity to their rental home. Check out the photos from the funeral in the gallery and read more on the sad story after the jump!

Rodney Todd, 36, lived in the Princess Anne, Maryland with his seven children, who were aged from six to 15. The funeral lasted 6 hours and 1,200 people came to pay their final respect. The Todd family died sometime between March 28th and April 6th. Todd bought a generator and put it in his kitchen to keep his two sons and five daughters warm. Police found their bodies after the father’s co-workers knocked on the door with no answer.

Eight coffins were lined on the stage of the Ella Fitzgerald auditorium in Maryland for the funeral services. Rodney Todd was raising the children after divorcing their mother in November. The children’s names are Cameron Todd, 13, and Zycheim Todd, 7; and girls Tynijuiza Todd, 15; Tykira Todd, 12; Tybree Todd, 10; Tyania Todd, 9; and Tybria Todd, 6. The boys and father were dressed in white suits and the girls in lace dresses and tiaras. The children’s mother did not speak during the service. Delmarva Power said the power was cut off for safety reasons on March 25, not because the family was behind on its bills, as family members previously had said.
