The New York Knicks ended their worst season in franchise history with a 112-90 loss to the Detroit Pistons and finished with a 17-65 record, the second worst in the league (Minnesota Timberwolves finished last with a 16-66 record). Luckily for Knicks fans they had plenty of free food and drinks to drown their sorrows as it was Fan Appreciation Night at MSG and all the concession stands were FREE!
Knicks Fan Appreciation Night was presented by Chase Freedom and highlighted by the availability of free food and non-alcoholic beverages throughout the game, opportunities to meet Knicks alumni, a “Jerseys Off Our Back” ceremony, discounts on Knicks merchandise, special in-game elements saluting fans, and a Knicks hat.
Knicks fans gathered up the free food in big bags to take home and many were kind enough to give food to the many homeless people near 34th street and in Penn Station. In fact so many people gave away food, the homeless said they had too much!
One fan even won $10,000 for sinking a half-court shot. Bad season and bad final game aside, it looks like good times were had by all. Here’s hoping to a good draft and good free agency.
