Zella Jackson Price, who is a gospel singer in the St. Louis suburb Olivette, said that she was told 49 years ago that her daughter, Melanie Diane Gilmore, had died in a hospital hours after she was born. Price, said, “There’s nothing greater. There’s nothing greater than this. Nothing.” Gilmore, who lives in Eugene, Ore., brought her own daughter and son to meet her mom and brother for the first time. In the video, Melanie Diane Gilmore cried as she is reunited with her brother Harvey at the St. Louis airport. Gilmore was born a healthy baby at the hospital but doctors got confused and said the opposite, and she ended up being adopted by another family. She spent her whole life thinking that her mom had given her away and was now dead.

Gilmore’s children helped track down her real mom on Facebook and made the family reunion happen and DNA confirmed what the hospital got wrong almost half a century ago. They are now investigating what went wrong at the hospital.
