“Furious 7” raced to #1 it’s opening week racking in $143.6 Million according to the estimates from Rentrak! The movie is officially the 9th biggest opening of all time and has beat out last April’s record of $95 million from “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”.

The “Furious 7” movie is by far the most popular of them all, mostly because people are interested to see Paul Walker starring in his last film before he passed away in November 2013. “It probably created some curiosity, but, at the same time, fits in so well with the overall continuing saga of the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise. It’s a motivator, but it’s not by any means the prime motivator to see that movie”, which was a statement released by Universal’s president of domestic distribution, Nick Carpou.
