Rihanna's "Have My Money" Copied?

Another case of “caught out there” in the music world? Rihanna’s “B*tch Betta Have My Money” Called Out for Plagiarism by an independent artist from Houston who previously released her own Hip Hop and R&B neck-snatcher entitled “Betta Have My Money.” Is this a #reach, a matter of “musical chairs” or is it more???

Houston’s own Just Brittany cites Rihanna’s “B*tch Betta Have My Money” Called Out for Plagiarism on the grounds of her previously released mixtape Something Different. That mixtape was released over nine months ago, and as Complex reports Brittany’s track “Betta Have My Money” definitely has at least a few similarities, especially the hook.

But of course, Rihanna’s “B*tch Betta Have My Money” Called Out for Plagiarism is subjective to an extent because–how original is the phrase “(B*tch) Betta Have My Money” in music anyway? Anyone with their ear to its cultural origin knows/finds this comes straight from the streets, from pimp culture to be exact–and like a *pimp hand* has been going strong ever since pimping was seen and heard, let alone reflected if not adopted in pop culture. But to bring it back…wasn’t it also a few months ago when Dipset released “Have My Money”…matter fact, they also dropped the video earlier last month…so couldn’t it be chalked up to culture/influence?

Maybe. But drama aside Rihanna’s “B*tch Betta Have My Money” Called Out for Plagiarism and it’s still been on it’s run with radio success and the new Dubsmash App promo, not to mention a sick performance on the iHeart Radio Awards that had the net buzzing.

As more people get hip other origins reveal themselves such as the AMG original. But take a listen and sound off, is this something like a Ciara/Usher situation–or something being made out of nothing? Does Just Brittany deserve more than just a few retweets on her discovery or nah??? Don’t forget the gallery up top!
